(1.1)dhyānaṃ katamat? catvāri dhyānāni: vivekajaṃ savitarkaṃ savicāram,
samādhijam avitarkam avicāram, niṣprītikam, upekṣāsmṛtipariśuddhaṃ ca|
(1.2) vimokṣaḥ katasmaḥ? aṣṭ[au] vimokṣāḥ: rūpī rūpāṇi paśyatīti prathamo vimokṣaḥ|
adhyātmam a[rūpasaṃ]jñī bahirdhā rūpāṇi paśyatīti dvitīyo vimokṣaḥ|
śubhaṃ vlmokṣaṃ kāyena sākṣātkṛtvopasaṃpadya viharatīti tṛtīyo

anyatamasya vā guror dharmaṃ śṛṇoti satyāni vādhikṛtyāvaśiṣṭasaṃyojanaprahāṇaṃ
vā| satyāni vābhisamety arhattvaṃ vā prāpnoti| so'dhigacchati prītiprāmodyam
udāraṃ k[u]śalaṃ naiṣkramyopasaṃhitam| sa tena
dharmauddhatyābhinigṛhītena cetasā niṣīdati; tathāniṣaṇṇaś ca tac cittaṃ sthāpayati

(4.2.8.1) katamā śīlaparipūriḥ katamo'nugrahaḥ? ihaikatyaḥ śīlavān viharati prātimokṣasaṃvarasaṃvṛtaḥ, na tv ācāragocarasaṃpannaḥ, nāṇumātreṣv avadyeṣu
bhayadarśī| tasya tac chīlam aparipūrṇaṃ
bhavati| yadā punaḥ sarvam etad bhavati, tadā paripūrṇaṃ bhavati| iyaṃ śīlaparipūriḥ|
yāsya dīrghakālābhyāsād indriyair guptadvārasya viharato vistareṇa yāvat tasmiñ
śīle tanmayatā tatprakṛtyavasthāyitā, ayam anugrahaḥ|
(4.2.8.2) samādheḥ paripūriḥ: prayoganiṣṭhāphalaṃ yadi prāpnoti caturthe vā
dhyāne, paripūriḥ| arvāg aparipūrṇo
bhavati| anugrahaḥ katamaḥ? labdhasya samādher yottaratra pariśuddhiḥ: na cāsya samādhiḥ saṃskārābhinigṛhīto(?) bhavatīti vistaraḥ|
(4.2.8.3) katamā dṛṣṭiparipūriḥ? katamo'nugrahaḥ? parato ghoṣānvayād yoniśomanasikārāc
cotpadyate samyagdṛṣṭiḥ| tayā duḥkhaṃ prajānāti yāvan mārgam, no tu yathābhūtam; na tāvat paripūrṇā bhavati samyagdṛṣṭiḥ| yadā

(4.2.10.2.1) tatra yathā jātarūpaṃ gotrastham, evaṃ gotrasthaś cetoviśuddhipratipannako draṣṭavyaḥ, yo bhavyaḥ parinirvāṇāyābhinirvide| sa punaḥ
kuta upādāya cetoviśuddhipratipannakaḥ? yata upādāya śraddhāṃ pratilabhate, yayā niṣkrāmati|

dhyānam upasaṃpadya viharatīti, iyaṃ cittasya saṃgrahaviśuddhir avitarkāvicārasamādhisaṃgrahāt,
jātarūpasyevāvartanasaṃvartanāt|
(4.2.10.2.4) sacet samādhlr na saṃskārābhinigṛhīto
bhavatīti vistareṇa, iyaṃ cittasya karmaṇyatāviśuddhir
abhijñeyeṣu dharmeṣu yatheṣṭapariṇāmanāt, jātarūpasy[e]va prabhaṅguratādidoṣāpanayanāt|

darśanaprahātavyebhyaḥ kleśebhyaś cittaṃ vimucyate| kathaṃ
vipaśyanāsevitā śamatham āgamya vimucyate? ihaikatyo duḥkhaṃ yathābhūtaṃ prajānāti yāvan
mārgam| so'dhiprajñaṃ niśritya dhyānam utpādayati| tasya taṃ śamatham āgamya
bhāvanāprahātavyebhyaḥ kleśebhyaś cittaṃ vimucyate|
(4.2.12.3) evaṃ śamathavipaśyanāparibhāvitaṃ dhātuṣu
vimucyate| tatra darśanaprahātavyasarvasaṃskāraprahāṇaṃ prahāṇadhātuḥ|
bhāvanāheyaprahānaṃ
virāgadhātuḥ| sarvopadhinirodho nirodhadhātuḥ|
idaṃ bhāvanāphalam|
(4.2.12.4) tatra śāsanāsaṃbhedaḥ śāstuḥ śrāvakāṇāṃ
cārthenārthaḥ padena padaṃ vyañjanena vyañjanaṃ saṃsyandate sameti; na tu yathānya-
